It’s time for a little fashion post as the High Street starts reining in the remnants from the January sales. As much as I’ve appreciated the odd little bargain or two, is anyone else sick of seeing tired looking rails full of size 6s and 18s? Bring on the new season, s’il vous plait!
Burberry Prorsum led the way for pistachio, raspberry and mauve hues during September’s London Fashion Week so it’s refreshing to see stores like Dorothy Perkins and Warehouse finally display some much needed colour after the monochrome and berry palettes of AW13 and its no surprise that sorbets and acid brights are starting to sneak their way in to our spring wardrobes.
So I thought I’d feature some of my favourite pieces from some of the upcoming SS14 lines, let me know what you think!
The Warehouse Yellow Texture blouse and the Dorothy Perkins Pink Taped dress are great pieces to update your SS14 work wardrobe, by injecting a little bit of colour into these cold January days while the peach cropped jumper from Topshop would look awesome with high-waisted jeans, while at out and about at the weekend.
I absolutely love pastel accessories and have this mint cross-body bag from Forever 21 myself. It makes an alternative from my usual tan bags! The Georgia winged handbag from Accessorize sold out uber quick over Christmas and now its back in all its shapely glory in beautiful Spring hues, nab yours quick!
The Anya pointed courts from Kurt Geiger are a real statement and if you’re not feeling brave enough to opt for a complete colour block, dress up your LBD or wear with fitted cigarette pant style trousers to the office.
Finally, I absolutely love a statement necklace and nothing says Spring more than this cute necklace from Aldo. While you don’t want to over-do it and end up looking like your six year old self, pastels can compliment each other and the contrast of the blue would stand out from the peach ensemble.
So there you have it, my first fashion post of 2014, I’ll be putting up more style boards like this one using Polyvore very soon(probably a bit late to the party but it’s a blogging essential!). I managed to get myself organised at the weekend because I’m off to sunnier climates at the end of this week (CANNOT.WAIT!) so hopefully being organised will lead to a stress-free week…famous last words ha!
Hope you all have a great week and if you’re feeling a bit blue today, treat yourself to one of the little beauties above.
